01

Orders & shipping

01.1

Where do you ship from, and how long does it take?

All orders ship from our fulfilment partner in Austin, TX. Typical transit times: Continental US 2–5 days, Alaska & Hawaii 4–8 days, Canada 5–9 days, Europe 7–12 days, rest of world 10–16 days.
01.2

Do I have to pay customs duties?

For orders within the US, EU, UK, Canada, and Australia, we collect any applicable duties at checkout — the price you see is the final price. For other destinations, your local courier may charge duties on delivery, which are not included in our pricing.
01.3

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

Yes — within two hours of placing your order, you can email service@nicebodywork.studio with your order number to cancel or amend. After two hours, the order is locked into our fulfilment system. Once shipped, you'll need to wait for delivery and use our 30-day return window.
01.4

Do you ship to PO boxes?

We don't, because our courier partners require a signature on delivery. Please provide a residential or office address.
01.5

How do I track my order?

When your order leaves our Austin facility, you receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking link from our courier partner. You can also see live status by signing into your account at any time.
01.6

Do you offer gift wrapping?

We don't, because all our packaging is already designed to look like a gift on arrival — recycled board, cloth wrap, no plastic. You can add a hand-written note at checkout, free of charge.
02

Returns & warranty

02.1

What is your return window?

30 days from delivery for unused instruments in original packaging — full refund. 14 days for used instruments — partial refund (typically 70–90%) depending on condition. Either way, write to service@nicebodywork.studio and we'll email a return label.
02.2

How long is the warranty?

Two years from the date of delivery, covering parts and labour for defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover wear-and-tear of consumable parts (massage heads, sleeves) or damage from drops, water ingress, or modification.
02.3

What if my instrument arrives damaged?

Email us a photo within 7 days of delivery and we'll arrange an immediate replacement at no cost. We've never had a customer pay for shipping-damaged goods.
02.4

How long do refunds take?

Once your return arrives at our Austin, TX facility, we issue the refund within 7 business days. The card-issuer's posting time is usually 3–5 days on top of that.
02.5

Can I return a gift?

Yes, with the original order number from the giver. Refunds for gift returns are issued as store credit unless the giver explicitly authorises a refund to their card.
03

Using your instrument

03.1

How long should each session be?

For percussion instruments, 60–90 seconds per muscle group, 10–15 minutes total per session. For compression and heat devices, follow the cycle programmed into the device — typically 15 or 25 minutes. More is not better.
03.2

When should I not use a percussion device?

Avoid use directly on the spine, the front of the throat, open wounds, areas of recent surgery, varicose veins, or numb tissue. If you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, or have any cardiovascular or neurological condition, consult your doctor before use.
03.3

Which head should I use for which area?

Silicone ball — large groups (quads, glutes, lats). Foam dampener — sensitive tissue post-workout. Steel pinpoint — trigger points and plantar fascia. Wedge — neck and shoulder borders. Fork — spine-flanking musculature, never directly on the spine.
03.4

How loud is Aether/01, really?

42 dB at 1 metre, measured against a 30 dB ambient room. That's quieter than a normal whisper. You can use it during a phone call without the other party noticing.
03.5

Is it safe to use daily?

For percussion and manual tools — yes, daily use within the recommended duration is the intended use case. For compression, the studio recommends every other day to allow lymphatic recovery.
03.6

How do I clean my instrument?

Wipe the body with a slightly damp microfibre cloth. Silicone heads can be hand-washed with mild soap and air-dried. Never submerge any electronic instrument or use alcohol on the printed surface — it can damage the matte finish.
03.7

Can I take my device on a plane?

Yes, in carry-on. Our lithium batteries are under the 100 Wh threshold for IATA. Aether/Mini is the most travel-friendly device in the catalogue at 480 g.
04

Service & repair

04.1

My device stopped working. What do I do?

Email service@nicebodywork.studio with your order number and a short description (or video). 80% of issues are diagnosed and resolved by email within 24 hours. The remainder are returned to our Los Angeles workshop, repaired, and shipped back at no cost during warranty.
04.2

What about repairs after the warranty?

We offer paid repair for the full service life of every instrument. Typical out-of-warranty repair costs are $40–$120 plus return shipping. We keep spare parts in stock for at least seven years after a model is discontinued.
04.3

Can I buy spare parts directly?

Yes — replacement heads, batteries, and silicone sleeves are available on request. Email service@nicebodywork.studio with your model and serial number.
04.4

Do you offer trade-in for older models?

Yes. When we release a major revision (e.g. Aether/01 v2, March 2026), original owners receive a 60% trade-in credit against the new model for a 90-day window after release.
05

The studio

05.1

Where are your instruments made?

Designed in Brooklyn, NY. Final assembly in our Los Angeles workshop or with our partners in Shenzhen, depending on the instrument. We list the country of assembly on each product page.
05.2

Can I visit the studio?

By appointment only. We are not a retail shop — but if you're in Brooklyn or Los Angeles and want to see how an instrument is built or get a fitting for our seat-based devices, write to hello@nicebodywork.studio.
